Louis Leclezio

Louis Leclezio was born and grew up under the tropics in Eureka, Moka, Mauritius. There three generations of Leclezios had preceded his father in creating and maintaining its manicured magic gardens extending over more than one hundred acres.

Indeed Louis often wonders if Mark Twain on his trip to Mauritius went to Eureka? Could a visit there in 1897 have inspired him to write in his book: "Following the equator" - "You gather the idea that Mauritius was made first, and then heaven; and that heaven was copied after Mauritius."

During his childhood and adolescence Louis often wondered what parts of the Garden of Eden looked most like Eureka? At nineteen years old, Louis left the island of his birth, traveling to Europe, Africa, Canada, and the United States. Eventually, he and his family settled in the U.S. Forty years later, he returned to Mauritius.  Born into a family with deep roots in sugar cane farming, Louis now hopes that mostly sweet produce is harvested from all he sows.  However a reality of life is that bitter weeds do encroach on many fields.  May they serve to add a taste of humility whenever and wherever needed.

Louis' vast wealth today consists of the five precious children his beloved late wife of thirty five years gave birth to. Today they are all married and by the grace of God they have given Louis and Wendy seventeen grandchildren with one more due at Christmas time!

Louis' three favorite refrains repeated often to his children while they were growing up and to his grandchildren now are:

"May we continue to sow truth and love wherever we are led to plant it regardless of the quality of the soil. Remember that while an arid soil can produce sweet fruit, fertile fields can yield bitter and sour crops. Continue to sow as best you know. It is not important to find out who reaps which crop?"

"In life it is not your aptitude but your attittude that determines your altitude."

"Pray as if it all depends on God. Work as if it all depends on you. Let the chips fall where they may."

When Louis is called to be totally one with Wendy again, his faith, hope and love for God is what he would like to be remembered for.
